In sync with the 2026 UNEP theme- “Global Action for a Cooler Planet”

World Ozone Day was observed on 16 September 2026 in DPS Chandigarh, with the aim of creating awareness among the students of Class V about the importance of the ozone layer and the need to protect our environment. 
As part of the observance, an informative and engaging video session was organised for the students. The videos also helped the students understand the role of human activities and the importance of responsible environmental practices.
To make the learning experience more interactive, the students were then given an interesting crossword puzzle based on the ozone layer and environmental protection. The activity successfully combined awareness, visual learning and experiential participation. 
The observance concluded with a positive message for the students to become environment-conscious citizens and responsible “Ozone Protectors “which they reinforced by taking a pledge.
