Gandhi Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, is celebrated to honour the legacy of the Father of the Nation and remind students of his values of truth, non-violence and simplicity. On this occasion, the children of the Pre-Primary Wing of DPS, Chandigarh were introduced to Bapu’s teachings and principles on October 1 and October 5, 2026.
Some children came dressed as ‘Gandhi Ji’ and spoke about his life and values. The children also sang patriotic songs and participated in a craft activity to understand Bapu’s principles in a fun and meaningful way. The day was filled with joy, learning and patriotic fervour.
