Electoral Literacy Drive in Middle School

The Electoral Literacy Club of DPS Chandigarh organized an awareness campaignfull of vibrant activities for Classes VI-VIII to promote electoral awareness and responsible citizenship. The activities were both engaging and highly informative, and aimed at sensitizing students to the pivotal role of the Election Commission of India in making India one of the world's strongest democracies. As part of the drive, all sections of Class VIII participated in a creative 4-6 panels comic strip making activity to promote awareness about the Voter Helpline Number 1950. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 300 students and was a huge success.

As part of the ongoing Electoral Literacy Drive, the Electoral Literacy Club of DPS Chandigarh organized a creative Mascot Designing Competition for the students of Class VII to foster democratic values and civic responsibility from a young age. The objective of the activity was to help students understand the importance of every single vote and the role of the Election Commission of India in strengthening our democracy, through art and imagination. Students were encouraged to conceptualize a friendly and inspiring mascot that could motivate citizens, especially first-time voters, to participate in the electoral process. The activity saw overwhelming participation, with over 280 students from all sections of Class VII showcasing their creativity. Students came up with highly innovative and vibrant mascots with catchy names and slogans. The Principal, Ms Pawan Singh appreciated the efforts of the students and the Electoral Literacy Club, stating that such creative initiatives make complex concepts like democracy simple and relatable for young minds. The activity not only honed the artistic skills of the students but also instilled in them a deep sense of pride in being future voters of the largest democracy in the world.
