First position in 27th Regional Childrens’ Science Congress

Our team comprising of Jatin Saharan and Anubhav Sihag (Junior team) bagged the First position in 27th Regional Childrens’ Science Congress (Project title: Using Blue and Green Dustbins- An achievable dream for clean India) held on November 25,2019. These students will now participate in the National Childrens’ Science Congress to be held in Bengaluru.

Rajiv Gandhi Model United Nations was held in Delhi

Rajiv Gandhi Model United Nations was held in Delhi from October 18 to October 20. The following students were awarded Certificates of Excellence:

Saanya Khunger (Class XII)

Simar Class XI)

Rishabh Jain (Class XII)

Gurkirat Singh and Herschelle Gill were also awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5000.

Samvidhan Diwas celebrated at DPS

Under the guidelines of the CBSE, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated the Samvidhan Diwas on 26.11.2019.
Preamble was read in school across all classes to mark the Samvidhan Diwas. The day was celebrated with much patriotic zeal and enthusiasm. Students were made aware of the immense contribution of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in shaping the constitution of the country. The Preamble truly embodies the philosophy and fundamental values on which the constitution is based. It is a proud moment that even in the 21st century the principles are upheld in the fibre of the nation.

Pre Primary wing celebrated Children’s Day

“Every child is a different kind of flower and all of them together make this world a beautiful garden”.
Acknowledging the fact that children are the most innocent flowers of this world, students and teachers of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated children’s day in most fragrant way and with high spirits. Children looked adorable in their party dresses. Various fun activities and games were planned for them. It was happiness in abundance as the school was abuzz with smiles of innocent children. Ms Reema Dewan, Principal of the school gave her best wishes and blessings to the children. She also conveyed that our happiness and our world revolves around our lovely children. May the love and laughter always stay on every child’s face.

National Book Week celebrated at DPS Chandigarh

The ‘National Book Week’ was celebrated with great fervour at DPS Chandigarh from 14th November to 20th November, 2019. The library department of the school designed various activities keeping the age group of the pupils in mind. The series of variant activities like ‘Favourite Character’s Book’ for Class IV, ‘Quest : J.L. Nehru’ for Class V, ‘Paper Bag Book Report’ for Class VI, ‘Wall Hanging on Authors’ for Class VII and ‘Book in a Box’ for Class VIII were enjoyed by all the students.

The Principal, Ms. Reema Dewan appreciated the efforts of teachers for sensitizing the students about the importance of books in life. She shared that the reading habit must be cultivated at the younger age so that a strong foundation of creativity and knowledge can be laid down.
