Fantasy play has always been a part of our childhood. To make the children relive their fantasies Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organised the fifth segment of the Early Learning Series for the children of the Pre-primary wing. The little ones of Class Nursery looked adorable dressed as cartoon characters from ‘The Toon World’. Watching the children of Class Prep l was a treat as they spoke about the powers of ‘Superheroes’ and how they use them for good to save the world. Class l and ll students came dressed as characters from ‘Fairy Tales’ and ‘Disneyland’ and left everyone mesmerized by their spectacular performance. With their parents as audience the children sang a melodious song and enthused one and all present.
Our school bagged gold in Badminton Tournament(U-19)
Our school bagged gold medal in U-19 girls category in U.T Inter school Badminton tournament. Team members are-

Tejveer Singh won the Man of the match, Best batsman of series and player of the tournament award
In Saupins Gold Cup, our school student Tejveer singh of class XI-E made 112 runs and made his team win the final match. it was held at Lotia Cricket stadium on 21st Nov. He got Man of the match, best batsman of the series and player of the tournament award.

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh hosts CBSE Heritage India Quiz 2022.
Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organised the Regional Round of CBSE Heritage Quiz 2022 on 20th December 2022. It was exuberantly conducted by Quiz Master, Ajay Poonia. Twenty Three schools participated from CBSE schools under Chandigarh Region. There were two stages in the quiz – written Qualifier Round out of which six teams were shortlisted for Onstage Round comprising of a mix of verbal, audio and visual rounds. The top position from the Chandigarh Region was bagged by Springdale Public School, Amritsar.
The Principal Delhi Public School, Ms. Reema Dewan said such competitions not just hone children’s skills but also keep them rooted firmly in their tradition and culture which truly encapsulates their holistic development. The chief guest of the event, Dr. Shvetta Arora, Regional Officer, at the CBSE Regional Office Chandigarh also appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants.
It was truly a brain teasing and a successful event.
CLASS SHOW AND ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION OF CLASSES IX TO XII
The Annual Prize distribution of the students of Classes IX to XII of DPS Chandigarh was held on 17th December 2022 in the school ground. The students presented a short program based on the theme “Utsav- a Celebration”.
The programme commenced with the releasing of balloons as a symbol of joy, cheer and life celebrations. It was followed by the address of the Principal, Mrs Reema Dewan. In her address, Principal Ma’am said how important it was to celebrate life after the pandemic. She further added that such activities not only strengthen bond and rejunevate students but are the main ingredients in the wholesome development of the children. She also complemented students and teachers for all their efforts and hard work.
She also appreciated and highlighted the achievements of the students and spoke about the various events organized by the school.
The class show aptly titled ‘Utsav- a Celebration’ put up by the students was a visual treat. The scintillating folk dances kept everyone enthralled and gave an insight to the unique culture of world’s most ethnically diverse land -India. It gave a heartfelt and enriching message to the audience. The performances amazed the spectators and held them in awe.
A prelude – an apt curtain raiser to the upcoming 20 years celebration, the show was much appreciated by everyone and it was truly successful in showcasing the multitudinous talent of the Dipsites.

It is a matter of great pride that our School was awarded a special commendation certificate for its zeal and support to the Swachhta Abhiyaan Campaign initiated by the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh. The Swachhta Award Ceremony was held at the Open Air Theatre, sec 48 C, Chandigarh on December 13., 2022 in the presence of Smt Sarbjit Kaur, Mayor, Chandigarh.

Class Show & Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony – Classes VII & VIII
As DPS Chandigarh, reaches the milestone of completing 20 years in 2023, the celebrations are already underway with a series of field shows being put up by the school students. The children of classes 7 and 8 presented their class show ‘ Body and Mind – Ek Sampoorn Vyaktitv’ on 15th December 2022 on the occasion of their Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony. Mr. Ajoy Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company and Secretary, Urban Local Government was the chief guest on the occasion. He lauded the achievements of the students and emphasized on the Indian traditional ways like yoga, Ayurveda to remain healthy. He congratulated the Principal and the management for their efforts. The directors and members of DPS Chandigarh attended the event and were appreciative of the participants’ zeal and enthusiasm. The Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan reiterated that the importance of sports cannot be undermined and that learning takes place not only in the classroom but outside as well. She also said that at DPS Chandigarh, all efforts were being made to give the right exposure through myriad of events organised in school and through student exchange programmes. The show involved over 540 students in a band and choir ensemble, yoga, aerobics and drills in energetic performances followed by a spectacular grand finale, all resonating the theme that health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit. Parents and students were in for a ‘games and food’ treat with a relaxing and fun-filled carnival that followed the show.
Class Show & Annual Prize Distribution of Classes 3 & 4
The students of classes 3 and 4 DPS Chandigarh, presented their Field show ‘Panchtatva’-The Essence of Life on 13th December,2022 on the occasion of Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony. The school completes 20 years in the next academic year and the weeklong field shows are a curtain raiser to the grand celebrations ahead. The field show was presided by Sh. Raj Kamal Chaudhary, IAS, Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Services, Chandigarh. The meritorious students were felicitated for their academic performance.
Showcasing the theme – Panchtatva, the students presented scintillating performances signifying the importance of the earth, water, fire, air and sky also depicting that the amalgamation of these five elements provides diversity and different dimensions to this creation. The ground came alive with the songs and dances performed by young and dazzling stars spilling a myriad of colours through their performances.
The applause by the parents proved testimony to the laudable effort of over 470 students. The Principal Mrs. Reema Deewan congratulated all those who made the program a grand success.
Classes 5 & 6 Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony
Honouring and appreciating the achievers with accolades, the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony for the students of classes V and VI was held with great zeal and enthusiasm at Delhi Public School, Chandigarh on 12th December 2022. The school completes 20 years in the next academic year and the week long field shows are a curtain raiser to the grand celebrations ahead. The event commenced with an address from the Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan where she emphasized on the holistic development of each child. As per NEP, the activities outside the classrooms are as important as the academics inside a classroom. The purpose of such shows is not perfection but participation of all. The Principal shared the major achievements of the school followed by the felicitation of more than 200 scholars. The field show was presided over by the additional District and Sessions Judge Smt. Swati Sehgal. Post the award ceremony, the audience embarked on a journey of the birth of the universe “Cosmic Web…..a ballet of stars”. After a gap of two years, having remained cooped up in their virtual classrooms, more than 500 students displayed extraordinary exuberance while performing in the field. This was followed by a fun-filled carnival for the students and the parent community.
Pre- primary organised ELS IV- ‘Sports Day’
Games are essential for healthy development in early childhood and beyond. Keeping this in mind, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organised ELS IV- Sports Day ( Funathon) for the children of the Pre-Primary wing. Children were full of excitement and had loads of fun participating in different races like stack up race,hurdle race, relay race, three legged race etc. The children competed with full enthusiasm and the winners were awarded medals. The star attraction for the day was ‘Tug of War’. The children pulled with all their strength and were joined by their teachers. It was a fun-filled day for one and all.
Class Nursery organised ‘Show and Tell Activity’
A ‘Show and Tell Activity’ on the topic ‘My Favourite Animal’ was organised by Delhi Public School, Chandigarh for the students of Class Nursery. The aim of the activity was to improve communication and descriptive skills in children. Children were dressed up as their favourite animal and looked adorable. They spoke confidently and enhanced their creative and speaking skills.The activity helped to foster public speaking skills among the students. Children thoroughly enjoyed the activity and their performance was worth appreciating.
