To educate the little ones about the traffic rules and regulations, a ‘Role Play Activity’ was organized for the students of Class Prep l of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh. The children were made aware about the mandatory and cautionary safety rules to be followed on the road through videos and a role play. They were given different situations and were encouraged to enact accordingly. The students participated enthusiastically in the activity. By the end, they were able to identify the road safety signs.
Pre-Primary Wing organized ‘English Poetry Recitation Competition’
Poetry is a form of literary art that is based on the interplay of words and rhythm. In order to instill love for poetry and to develop skills of expression, recitation, speech and stage confidence, an ‘English Poetry Recitation Competition’ was organized for the students of the Pre-Primary Wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh. The students were given different themes for the recitation competition. The students recited the poems with confidence, expression and proper pronunciation. They used beautiful and appropriate props to make their recitation effective. The children participated enthusiastically and thoroughly enjoyed the fun-filled learning experience.
Pre- Primary Wing hosted ‘Halloween Party’
Halloween festivities are linked to the concept of good luck and to embrace the festive mood, Team DPS, Chandigarh hosted a ‘Halloween Party’ for young participants on October 31, 2023. The youngsters adorned themselves as ghosts, witches, vampires, bats and other creative characters, complete with makeup and wacky hairstyles. They were delighted to get engaged in a variety of entertaining games and danced to the spooky tunes of Halloween songs. It was truly captivating to witness their merriment while they savoured the Halloween goodies.

Class Prep II organised ‘Nest Making Activity’
In our commitment to enrich the learning experience of our inquisitive young students at DPS Chandigarh, we prioritize offering well-rounded knowledge to our children. With this principle in mind, as a component of our General Awareness project, the students of Prep II undertook the exciting task of crafting bird nests from a variety of materials such as round paper plates, twigs, and grass. To add a touch of realism, they also crafted bird eggs using cotton balls. This engaging hands-on activity was a delightful departure from their daily routine, stimulating their creativity while simultaneously enhancing their understanding and providing a joyful and fun-filled learning experience.

Class II organised ‘Role Play Activity’
The young learners of class II of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh were apprised of the movement and presence of various heavenly bodies in space during their General Awareness class. To enhance their knowledge about the planets and fuel their imagination a role play activity was organised wherein the children enacted as planets that revolve around the sun in the solar system. They also shared valuable information about the eight planets. The young Dipsites thoroughly enjoyed this fun-filled learning experience.
Samisha Taneja,class VIII-A wins a Silver in High Jump in the North Zone Junior Athletics Championship 2023-24!
Samisha Taneja of class VIII-A wins Silver Medal in High Jump in ‘Under 14’ category at 34th North Zone Junior Athletics Championship 2023-24 conducted at Jammu from 15th to 17th October 2023. She qualifies for the National tournament to be held in Coimbatore on November 23.
Pre- Primary Wing celebrated “Dussehra”
To mark the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana and to reinforce the message that good always triumphs over evil, the young ones of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated the festival of Dussehra with lots of enthusiasm. The children participated in a variety of craft activities with lots of fun and excitement. The teachers shared valuable information and videos about the festival with the children thus enhancing their learning. The children enjoyed every activity and it also gave them a peek into our vibrant culture.
Kavin Sood, Class XII-D finished 4th in the Boys Under 17 category!
In the 13th Bombay Gymkhana Indian Junior Open, Kavin Sood of Class XII-D finished 4th in the Boys Under 17 category. The championship was held in Mumbai from 23rd to 27th September 2023. The championship was an international 6-star Asian Squash Federation Platinum Event with competitors from the USA, England, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Qatar. This achievement has taken him to No.8 for the Sub-Junior/Junior National Championships to be conducted this month at Indore.
