Class I organised ‘Nature Walk & Nature Art Activity’

To make the children aware of the art involving nature and display the beauty of the natural world around us, an activity on Nature Walk and Art was organised for students of Class I of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh. The students were taken out to the garden and were asked to observe different types of trees and plants around them. The children collected different leaves, flowers, pebbles and twigs in their bags and did beautiful artwork using their creativity and imagination. They enjoyed the activity thoroughly.

Celebrating Veer Bal Diwas By Learning By Doing Activity

“Every child is a gift of nature ,a bundle of joy and a beacon of hope.”
The theme of 2023 Children’s day is for every child, every right. According to UNICEF, World Children’s Day is a day for the children, by the children. The day is designed to put a spotlight on key issues affecting children- from ending childhood abuse and violence and their protection to ensuring children’s right to an education and to have a voice to be listened.
Under the Child Rights project initiated by CCPCR ,the students of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh participated in hands on activity conducted on 29-11-2023 in the school classrooms. Students were given activity sheets in which they need to observe the picture and write about the Children’s rights in the school .Students were elevated by observing the pictures and writing about their rights, responsibilities and importance of children’s rights. Students made informational slogans on the topic ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
Students got practical experience as they apply their learning and learn from their mistakes.

Celebrating Childhood with Experiential Learnings at DPS, Chandigarh

“The true character of a society is revealed in how it treats its children”
International Child Rights day is celebrated to provide children with greater care and security. Children ought to be in position where they can count on adults to look out for them, respect their rights, and assist them as they develop and reach their full potential.
Under the Child Rights project initiated by CCPCR, the students of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh participated in speaking and listening activities conducted on 22-11-2023 in the school classrooms. Students watched informational videos related to the child rights and felt awakened by listening to the importance of United Nation Convention. Students were thrilled by listening to the animated songs of role of children’s rights like Right to eat healthy food, Right to participation, Right to survival etc.
Students showed healthy participation in Quiz on various types of rights.
Students clarified their doubts related to the safe environment (Right to Protection) and realized that their opinions, views and voices matters a lot for healthy development of the society.

Suhani makes us proud by winning Runners-Up trophy in State Inter-School Squash Tournament 2023

Proud to share that Suhani Sharma, Class XI, a national Squash Player for the last four years, participated in the National Games 2023 at Goa representing the Chandigarh State Women Team. Earlier, in the State Squash Championship 2023, conducted in October, Suhani was the runners-up winning Rs 40,000 as prize money Besides, along with Ankita Sharma and Vaanya, she led the DPS U-17 girls Squash team to win the Runners-Up trophy, in the State Inter-School Squash Tournament 2023 conducted by the Education Department, Chandigarh Administration

Class Nursery organized ‘Dress Up Day Activity’

Dress Up Day activity on the topic, ‘My Favourite Animal’ was organized by Delhi Public School, Chandigarh for the students of class Nursery. Tiny tots were not only dressed up adorably as their favourite animal but spoke confidently and enhanced their creative & speaking skills. Children thoroughly enjoyed the activity and their performance was worth appreciating.

Pre- Primary Wing celebrated ‘Gurupurab’

To celebrate the birthday of the founder of Sikhism, Gurupurab was celebrated by the children of the Pre-Primary wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh. Children were apprised of the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji and they also sang holy Shabads. They were motivated to incorporate the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji in their lives.

Pre- Primary Wing organized ELS IV- Sports Day (Funathon)

Physical activity is of utmost importance for healthy development in early childhood and beyond. Keeping this in mind, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organized, ELS IV- Sports Day (Funathon) for the children of the Pre-Primary wing. The students were full of excitement and had loads of fun participating in different races like stack up race, hurdle race, relay race, hopping hop, suck the nectar etc. The children competed the races with full enthusiasm and the winners were awarded medals. It was a fun-filled day for one and all.

Our Students showcased their brilliance at the CBSE Skills Expo 2023

Four students of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, participated in the CBSE Skills Expo 2023, Haridwar.
We are thrilled to share that our talented students showcased their brilliance at the CBSE Skills Expo 2023 in Haridwar. Two outstanding projects from DPS Chandigarh, presented by Suhani Sharma and Rehnaaz Kaur and Krishna and Parvi , from Grade XI, were shortlisted for the Regional Level Competition.
Project 1: Sustainability and Environmental Conservation
Suhani Sharma and Rehnaaz Kaur showcased a ground-breaking exhibit, focusing on utilizing waste effectively to produce eco-friendly ecologs. These innovative logs are designed to replace traditional treewood in crematoriums, contributing to environmental sustainability.
Project 2: A solar-powered radio Transceiver Floater for emergency distress signals was showcased by Krishna and Parvi, students of Grade XI.

The day-long expo, held at DPS Haridwar, on November 18th, witnessed the participation of over 70 schools from the North Indian region of CBSE.

Class Prep II organised ‘Play Dough Activity’

Bursting with wildlife and teeming with mysteries to be solved, our oceans are one of the most amazing habitats on Earth. As a part of our ‘General Awareness’ curriculum for Prep II students at DPS Chandigarh, we organised a creative playdough activity centered around crafting ocean creatures. Playdough serves as an endless source of amusement for our inquisitive young learners, providing hands-on sensory experiences that introduce them to a wide array of textures and shapes. The children delighted in fashioning a variety of ocean animals, including dolphins, octopuses, whales and starfish using playdough during the activity. This engaging experience not only broke the monotony of their daily routine but also enriched their knowledge with newfound skills.

Class Nursery organised ‘Black and White Colour Day’

Just like we can’t imagine a world without colours, a world without black and white colour is unimaginable too. Continuing in our endeavour to make our little ones aware about the importance of colours, students of Class Nursery of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated Black and White Day.
Children were dressed in black and white attires and enthusiastically participated in the black and white show and tell activity. Activities like painting and pasting of cotton balls on a penguin were conducted to reinforce the concept . It was indeed a fun- filled learning day for the little ones.

Pre- Primary Wing celebrated ‘Diwali’

In the spirit of celebrating the festival of lights the Pre-Primary wings of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organized a diya making activity under the guidance of a skilled potter. The children had the chance to mould and shape beautifully designed diyas. Following the diya making activity, the children brimming with excitement took their creation to the next level. They adorned their diyas with beautiful colours, sequence and glitter. They were also involved in card making activity on this occasion. This hands-on approach not only encouraged artistic expression but also instilled a sense of accomplishment and pride in the young learners.
