Prep II organised ‘Collage Making Activity on Safety Saves’
As part of our continuous commitment to promoting safety awareness among our young learners, a ‘Collage Making Activity’ was conducted for the students of Prep II at DPS, Chandigarh. The children were educated on various methods to ensure their safety both at home and on the playground. They were encouraged to bring pictures related to these safety measures and use them to create visually appealing collages illustrating things to avoid doing at home and on the playground to prevent harm. Through actively involving the children in this initiative, our goal is to foster a deeper understanding of how to stay safe and make responsible choices. This activity not only enhanced their knowledge but also stimulated their creativity. Each child independently crafted their collage contributing to their sense of confidence in the process.
Class Nursery celebrated ‘Brown Colour Day’
Colours spread joy, smile, fun, happiness and meaning in our life. Continuing in our endeavour to teach the children to visually identify all the different colours, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated ‘Brown Colour Day’ with the tiny tots of Class Nursery. Our little Seedlings and Saplings were dressed in shades of brown. The kids enhanced their communication skills as they confidently participated in the show and tell activity. Brown wool pasting activity on a teddy bear was done by the students in a very enthusiastic and joyful manner. It was a scintillating day with innocent faces gleaming, reflecting brightness, joy, love and happiness.
Pre- Primary Wing celebrated ‘Lohri’
The Pre-Primary Wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated Lohri, the festival which ushers in joyous spring and bids adieu to the hard winter, during the online class with great enthusiasm. The mood was upbeat and the children actively immersed in the festive spirit. Our little ones were dressed in bright ethnic attire and eagerly participated in Lohri craft activity. They learnt about the significance of the festival and to add fun to the celebration, the students and teacher sang songs resonating the rich cultural folk lore of Punjab.
Chenab House Rings in the Festive Season with Enchanting Christmas Assembly
Chenab House orchestrated a spectacular Christmas Assembly on December 22, 2023, embracing a multitude of artistic expressions and spreading cheer throughout the school.
In a harmonious blend of spirituality and creativity, the assembly featured a heartwarming prayer, engaging news updates, an insightful thought, an impassioned speech, a soulful poem, melodious carols, and captivating dance performances. The collective enthusiasm of both junior and senior wing students infused the event with an infectious spirit of joy and celebration.
The highlight of the assembly was the address by the esteemed school Principal, Ms. Reema Dewan. She eloquently conveyed the profound significance of Christmas, emphasizing the importance of bringing smiles to every face and engaging in benevolent deeds. Ms. Dewan’s words resonated with the audience, leaving a lasting impression of the true essence of the festive season.
Pre- Primary organised Early Learning Series- V
In order to make the children relive their fantasies and showcase their love for toons, Pre-Primary wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organised the fifth segment of the Early Learning Series. The students of the Pre-Primary wing were looking adorable dressed up as superheroes, toons and characters of fairy tales and Disney. They participated with full verve and enthusiasm. The students took everyone to a spectacular tour to the world of toons and Disney Land and gave a wonderful performance. The whole event was a fun and exciting experience for one and all present.
Pre- Primary Wing celebrated ‘Christmas’
The Pre-Primary wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated Christmas with full zeal and enthusiasm spreading the message of love and joy among the children. The children came dressed in red, white and green and sang Christmas carols. They thoroughly enjoyed listening to the Christmas story and making beautiful crafts. The celebration added to the boundless joy which was visible on the faces of the children.
DPS celebrates Twenty Years of Completion-‘Siddharth se Buddha’
Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, witnessed the Magnum-Opus, Siddharth se Buddha- an awakening on 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th December2023. The students presented a musical narrative to commemorate the completion of twenty years of DPS, Chandigarh. The lyrical saga which involved more than 400 students was meticulously planned and executed by our dynamic Principal Mrs. Reema Dewan. The theatrical brilliance showcased the journey of Siddharth from his birth, childhood and education to his awakening and becoming the Enlightened One. It was a one of its kind school production with evocative plays, songs and scintillating dances on opulent sets.
The Principal Mrs. Reema Dewan deemed it her good fortune to have recreated a spectacular tribute to the ‘Great Master’, with a promise to hold high the ideals of the Enlightened One whose greatest gift to the world is to evoke the idea of serene and blissful awareness within ourselves. The mega show provided a lifetime experience to the students.
A galaxy of dignitaries graced the four daylong celebrations. On the inaugural day His Excellency Shri Banwarilal Purohit Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh was to witness the curtain raiser but sadly his official commitments kept him away. The event was graced by Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal and Mrs Ambika Soni – former Members of Parliament and Senior Members of the DPS Chandigarh family, Mr Anup Soni and Mr Amit Bansal – the esteemed Directors of the school. On the second day, esteemed Sh. V.K. Shunglu, Chairman, DPS Chandigarh and Vice Chairman, Delhi Public School Society released the school brochure and journal to mark the momentous achievements of the school. Ms. Anindita Mitra,IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation,U.T.,Dr.Shvetta Arora, Regional Officer, CBSE, Chandigarh were other luminaries who were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. The event culminated on 14th December 2023 in the presence of Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner as the Chief Guest and Sh. Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar, Director School Education as the Guest of Honour.
The production received a standing ovation both from parents and the various dignitaries who were visibly impressed by the impeccable performance showcased by the students .They lauded the efforts of the Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan for spearheading such a mega event and achieving excellence in education by completing twenty glorious years.
As the curtain falls on such a spell binding show, DPS Chandigarh would like to set the tone for bigger and more spectacular silver jubilee celebrations.
Class Nursery organised ‘Sorting Of Clothes Activity’
The young learners of Class Nursery of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh were apprised about the importance of winter season through an interesting ‘Sorting of Clothes Activity’. They sorted and separated the clothes season wise. They were explained about the winter season through rhymes and modules. The activity helped the children know and learn more about the season. Overall it was a fun learning experience for the children.

Arshiya of class 10 E brings laurel to the school by winning Silver medal in 1000 meters inline in National CBSE Skating championship held at Gurugram Global Heights School on November 27.
The competition consisted of 8 CBSE Zones and CBSE schools from middle East Asia.
Kavin Sood, class XII-D finished 3rd in the Boys Under 17 category at the Northern India Squash Championship
It gives us great pleasure to announce that Kavin Sood of class XII-D finished 3rd in the Boys Under 17 category at the Northern India Squash Championship, New Delhi (25-30 November 2023), proceeding to a top ten ranking on the national circuit and top twenty five ranking in Asia. Earlier this year, Kavin finished 5th at the 37th National Games in Goa whilst representing the state men’s team at only 16 years of age. Moreover, he led the boys school team to an intrastate gold and Rs 60000 prize money without dropping a single set throughout the competition. Our heartfelt congratulations to you!

Class II organised ‘My Healthy Plate Activity’
The food we eat decides our health, keeping this in mind, the students of Class-ll of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh were made aware about the healthy eating and its importance to meet their daily nutritional requirements. To apprise the students about healthy eating a ‘My Healthy Plate Activity’ was organised on NOV 30, 2023. The children were told about eating right and in balanced proportions. The students were instructed to divide a plate brought from home into four parts to show the 4 major food groups. The motive behind this activity was to make the children understand the importance of eating a balanced diet. They were further apprised about the same with the help of modules and a PPT. It was a great hands on learning experience for our young learners.
