Classes VI-VIII organised ‘Skill Saturday’

Students of classes 6 to 8 enjoyed yet another Skill Saturday on 6th July 2024.
The day was divided into different sessions – Yoga, Storytelling using Finger Puppets, Organising Retail, Poster Making On Balance between Technology and Nature as a part of the Health and Wellness Programme and Vocabulary Building.
To start the day, a Yoga session was conducted for the children wherein they meditated and performed different asanas. Importance of Yoga and Meditation was also explained to the students.

As a part of Skill Saturday Activity of Organising Retail, the students were tasked with creating innovative ad campaigns for a product of their choice. This advertising activity demonstrated the importance of understanding target audiences and crafting compelling messages. Students learned to develop effective, collaborative advertising strategies.
At the end of the session, Take Home Vocabulary’ activity was conducted. Students learnt new words in English, along with their meanings and usage. Overall, the second Skill Saturday was a great success too.

Classes III-V organised ‘Skill Saturday’

Grades 3 to 5 gathered for the much-awaited Skill Saturday on July 6, 2024. Designed to nurture holistic development of students, the day covered a wide array of activities ranging from physical fitness (Wiggle & Giggle) to artistic talent (Dotty delight, Stick Mania, Art Stars) to personal hygiene to Team Trust Challenge. Skill Saturday was a resounding success.

Class Nursery organized ‘Rain Walk Activity’

A rainy day is one such day that is awaited by everyone, especially the children. To enjoy the monsoon showers , the tiny tots of class Nursery of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh went out for a ‘Rain Walk’ in the school premises. Children had fun in the rain by splashing in the water puddles. It was a very refreshing and fun filled experience for the little ones. They learnt the uniqueness of the rainy season and how it is helpful to our environment.

OBSERVATION OF 10TH INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA, 2024 at DPS CHANDIGARH

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, observed the 10th International Day of Yoga on 21st June, 2024 on the theme “Yoga for Self and Society”.
The celebration aimed to promote the practice of yoga among students emphasising its benefits of physical and mental well-being.
The event encouraged a very healthy participation from students, teachers, administrative staff and parents. The day commenced with a special morning assembly where the school principal, Ms. Reema Dewan welcomed everyone and highlighted the significance of International Yoga Day. It was followed by a brief introduction to the history and importance of yoga.
All the participants gathered for a yoga session, as per the Common Yoga Protocol conducted by the Physical Education Department, guiding everyone through the series of basic yoga postures (asanas), breathing exercises and a meditation session.
The observation of International Day of Yoga was a resounding success, fulfilling its objective of promoting health and well-being through yoga.

DPS hosted ‘Summer Camp’ for Classes Nursery to IV

Summer has arrived, bringing with it our exciting summer camp ‘Sunshine Sparklers’ a place where kids gather to have fun and acquire a variety of new skills. Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, hosted a lively summer camp for classes Nursery to lV from May 24 to June 4, 2024. This camp featured a wonderful blend of activities designed to help children become independent and self-confident while socializing, making new friends and learning beyond academics. To make the most of the long and lazy summer days, the camp offered a wide array of activities including cooking without fire, art and craft, theme parties, experiments, bollywood dance and much more. It was truly an extraordinary experience for our young participants. The video presentation on the last day was a beautiful surprise for the parents.

Savir wins Squash Tournament!

Savir Sood, a student of Delhi Public School, Sector 40, Chandigarh has won the International Junior Open Squash Tournament in Indore. Players from eight countries, including the USA and Malaysia, participated in the event. in the final set, Savir defeated Hridhaan Shah 12-10, 16-14, 11-6 in the boys’ U-15 final match.

Classes VI-VIII organised ‘Movie Outing’

Students of Class 6-8 of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, went for a movie to CP 67 Mall on 21st May 2024. The students had a gala time and sang songs all the way to the mall.
They had an exhilarating opportunity to watch the highly anticipated “Shrikaanth” movie. It was an absolute delight. It was a cinematic gem that beautifully encapsulates the life and struggles of Srikanth Bolla, a visually challenged, who defied the odds to achieve monumental success. It was a beacon of inspiration on the big screen.
Children were agog with excitement while watching the movie. The idea behind it was to have an outing to give the children a break from their monotonous routine.

Classes III-V organized ‘A Day Out for a Movie’

On May 20th, 2024, the students of Classes III, IV and V enjoyed an exhilarating day out at VR Punjab Mall PVR Cinema, where they watched the inspiring movie “Maidan.” The film not only entertained but also imparted valuable lessons in perseverance and teamwork. This memorable trip beautifully blended fun with learning, making it a standout day for all the students.

Class Nursery organized ‘Lemonade Making Activity’

With the onset of summer, it gets essential to refresh and replenish our body with some cool beverages to beat the heat. To introduce our little Dipsites to one such lip- smacking drink, Class Nursery organized a ‘Lemonade Making Activity’. The little munchkins had a great time preparing lemonade by squeezing lemons, sprinkling sugar and salt and stirring the mixture with their tiny fingers. One could sense the excitement in the sparkling eyes. The activity gave our young learners hands on experience and they relished every bit of it. The task added to the sensory learning of our little ones and reinforced their fine motor skills in a fascinating way. It was a fun learning experience for our little ones.
