Session on Number Theory
“A session on Number Theory was conducted by resource persons from HT, who presented students of class X Delhi Public School, Chandigarh This exercise aimed to encourage students to engage with the problems and expand their understanding of Number Theory concepts. The session was interactive, with the team clarifying doubts and enhancing the students’ knowledge. Through this hands-on approach, students gained a deeper insight into the subject.”
Class Prep I organised ‘Planting of a Sapling Activity’
To emphasize the importance of trees, DPS Chandigarh organised ‘Planting of a Sapling Activity’ for the children of Class Prep I. This activity aimed to instil in them the value of leading a healthy life both physically and mentally, while recognizing plants as essential components of our ecosystem. In addition to planting saplings, the children also gained knowledge about the various parts of a plant and their specific needs. On the whole, this hands-on experience not only encouraged a deeper appreciation for nature, but also equipped the children with practical knowledge about nurturing and caring for plants.
Class VII organized ‘Literature Quiz’
Literature quizzes play a crucial role in enhancing students’ understanding and appreciation of literary works. By testing knowledge, promoting critical thinking, and fostering a deeper connection with literature, these quizzes contribute to academic growth and intellectual development.
Keeping up with this vision, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, organized a Literature Quiz about Authors and their works for class VII on 22nd July, 2024.
During the Literature quiz, students delved into the world of classic and contemporary authors, showcasing their knowledge and passion for literature. From Ruskin Bond’s timeless nature stories to Charles Dickens unforgettable characters , the quiz covered a diverse range of literary works. Students demonstrated their understanding of characters, themes, and writing styles, reflecting on the impact of these authors on society and culture.
This quiz served as a reminder of the enduring impact of literature on society and culture, inspiring students to continue their journey of literary exploration.
Class VIII organised ‘Sports Quiz’
An intellectually stimulating and thrilling Sports Quiz was conducted for class VIII on 22nd July 2024.
The students engaged in friendly rivalry and demonstrated their knowledge and expertise in sports.
These activities truly encourage a sense of camaraderie among students as well as promotes love for sports. The students thoroughly enjoyed the quiz.
Pre- Primary Wing organised ‘Get Groomed Week’
Keeping in mind the overall development of the children ,the Pre-Primary wing of, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organised ‘Get Groomed Week’. During this week children learned about table manners, classroom and corridor manners and use of magic words through role play, hands on experience and modules. Session on importance of maintaining good oral hygiene and visit by a dentist was a great learning experience. It was a fun-filled experience for the young learners.
Pre- Primary Wing organised ‘Cooking without Fire Activity’
We at D.P.S, Chandigarh believe that cooking is not just making food but learning basic math, team work, experiencing healthy food choices, exploring creativity and enhancing communication. Keeping this in mind, an activity ‘Cooking without Fire’ was organised by the Pre-Primary wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, wherein the students made different non-flame dishes like bhelpuri, chickpea salad, macaroni salad etc. The children enjoyed this culinary adventure with their chef caps and gloves on in a safe and controlled environment. They thoroughly relished the dish they made.
Pre- Primary Wing organised ‘Dental Workshop’
To educate the young students about the importance of dental hygiene, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organized a visit by a dentist parent. This visit aimed to instill good dental care habits early in life and make dental check-ups a positive experience. Dr.Neha told children about proper brushing technique on a dental model and also about good food choices to avoid cavities and tooth decay in a child-friendly way. The children thoroughly enjoyed the session as they shared their own experiences as well. It was a memorable and impactful dental workshop for the children.
Class Prep II organised ‘Weather Wheel Activity’
We at Delhi Public School, Chandigarh believe and encourage hands on activities which help children to have first hand experience. Keeping the same in mind, an engaging and educational ‘Weather Wheel Activity’ was conducted for the students of Prep ll. The purpose of this activity was to teach young learners about the different types of weather conditions. The children made a weather wheel in class depicting different kinds of weather and using a movable arrow in the center to show the weather of the day. This interactive and educational session not only enhanced their understanding of different weather conditions but also developed their observational and communication skills.
Class I organised ‘Dress Up Day Activity’
In a delightful exhibition of creativity and learning, the children of Class l at Delhi Public School, Chandigarh participated in a ‘Dress Up Day Activity’. This engaging activity was part of the General Awareness topic ‘Clothes’. The kids showcased various types of clothing worn throughout the year and discussed the outfits they were wearing and the seasons they are suited for. Some even carried props to suit their clothes and spoke about their importance too. It was a fun and educational experience for our young learners.
Excellent performance in Fit-1 Exam
Tanmay Rawat and Tanay Grover, students of X-D, have got the opportunity to be the part of Youth Camp, being organised by Goethe Max Muller(New Delhi) for their superb performance in Fit-1 exam.

Class Nursery organised ‘Blue Day’
In order to familiarise the children with blue colour , DPS Chandigarh organised ‘Blue Day’ for the students of Class Nursery. All the students and teachers were dressed in different shades of blue. Students carried their favourite blue objects and enthusiastically spoke and recited rhymes about the same. The young learners sorted blue colour objects and did mixing of different shades of blue in a beaker. It was an amazing learning experience which the students thoroughly enjoyed.

Savir Sood, class XD makes a giant leap!
Savir Sood of class XD has reached the summit of the Asian rankings being ranked 1st for the month of June. This is a result of his recent triumphs at the Hamdard Squashters Northern Slam 2024, New Delhi in April which was an Asian Junior Super Series Silver Event and at the 14th HCL Indian Junior Open 2024, Indore held in May of this year which was an Asian Junior Super Series Platinum Event. He is ranked 1st with a humongous average of 270 points. We congratulate and wish him success for his future endeavours!
