Class I Show ‘The Lion King’

“Universe is sacred and divine and we are all connected in the circle of life.”

DPS  Chandigarh bubbled  with zest and zeal as the students of class 1 presented ‘The Lion King’ depicting the circle of life. The show saw hundred percent participation thus giving each child an opportunity to discover their creative talent and hone their skills.

The principal Ms. Reema Dewan while addressing the audience reiterated that it was the school’s endeavour to ensure holistic development of children and such shows help in making them confident and personalities. Dressed in vibrant costumes the children casted a magical spell.

Class Nursery August Theme-‘Body & Hygiene’

Body and hygiene was the theme of the month. Nursery children were taught to keep themselves clean and stay fit.

The importance of keeping body clean to ensure disease free life was explained to all the children. Practical experiments and activities added to the learning of the children.

Class Prep August Theme-‘Seasons’

The students of Cass Prep enjoyed learning about ‘Seasons’ in the month of August. The children were shown modules on the different seasons and their related characteristics. Singing and dancing being their favourite activity, they recited songs and rhymes on the seasons. To make learning interesting, the children thoroughly enjoyed pasting bindis to make eyes of the sun depicting the summer season, finger printing to make drops of rain for rainy season and cotton balls depicting snowfall for the winter season. The season theme culminated happily when the tiny tots carried their own umbrellas home depicting the seasons of India.

ELS III-‘My Favourite Toy’

Children learn by playing and toys are instruments that allow them to discover and get closer to the world they live in. The third segment of Early Learning Series Programme ‘My Favourite Toy’ aimed at making children gain knowledge through the wide world of toys. The series provided them with platform to come up and talk about their favourite toy. With their parents as audience the little ones also sang a melodious song and enthused one and all present there.

Pre Primary Wing- ‘Festivals are Fun’

The Pre Primary wing wore a festive look as the students celebrated the festival of Janamashtami and Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. They were explained the significance of these days by stories, movies and class discussions. The children of Pre- Primary wing contributed to the event by participating in various craft activities with much fervor and gaiety such as a tri- coloured wall hanging, peacock making, National Flag etc. The children of Class I and II came dressed as ‘Famous Indian Personalities’ and spoke on the topic ‘ I love my country’. They learnt the significance of the various national symbols and the colours of the Indian flag.
