Uddayvir Singh of class XIC won Runners up trophy in Singles and was declared Winner in Doubles in ITF Juniors G5 Tournament held at Colombo, Srilanka from September 9 ,2019 to September 15, 2019. He was also declared Winner in both Singles and Doubles in the same Tournament held from September 16,2019 to September 22,2019.

Swacchata Pakhwada Programme
‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’, keeping this famous proverb in mind a series of activities were organised under the ‘Swacchata Pakhwada Programme’. The main aim of the programme was to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits. Under this programme, the sanitary facilities of the school were regularly monitored. Children participated in a cleanliness drive reverberating the mission of the programme. The students took a pledge to clear their school, home and the surroundings and also planted saplings. The teachers made the students aware about the different ways of reusing waste and also gave them handy tips to maintain personal hygiene. The drive was quite inspiring and motivating as the students also became aware about the dignity of labour.
Dental Workshop organised for Nursery class
In an endeavour to teach children about dental health and hygiene, a dental workshop was organised fir the students of class Nursery. The workshop was conducted by one of the parents from Nursery-B, who is a dentist. She made the students aware about the common dental problems through a vivid and child friendly presentation. Children were told about food choices which cause tooth decay and how to brush their teeth properly.
The dentist especially laid stress on eating less of chocolates and junk food to maintain happy teeth for happy smiles.
Class III Show – Kaleidoscope
The students of class 3, DPS Chandigarh, presented their class show ‘Kaleidoscope’- har rang kuch kehta hai, on September 27, 2019. The little artists spread joy and happiness and sending out a message to paint the canvas of life with an infinite chromatic spectrum.
The melodious songs and the mesmerizing dances gave the message of peace, unity, love, patriotism and conservation of nature. The ‘Nukkad Natak ‘ crisply put across the need to save water .The finale was an absolute delight to watch as the dazzling stars spilled a myriad of colours through their performance .The children won a thunderous applause from the audience for their spectacular performance.
White applauding the efforts and the hard work put in by the students , the Principal Mrs. Reema Dewan took a promise from the parents as well as the children that they would plant a tree on every birthday and anniversary and would contribute their bit. Altogether it was a wonderful show.

Parliament Debate was organised for Class XI
A parliamentary debate competition on the topic ‘This House Will Force Prisoners to Join Army in Situations of War’ was held in the school auditorium on 25th September, 2019 for students of Class XI. The proposition team comprising of Umang Malik, Riffat Soin and Jeevant Rajeev won the debate.
Class II Annual Show
The children of class 2 of Delhi public School, Chandigarh presented the class show ‘Superheroes & Us’ amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation. The show was not just an entertainer but came with an important message that, ‘Parents are our superheroes and they possess the power of unconditional love for their children.’
The auditorium wore a colourful look with children dressed in beautiful costumes. The children acted and danced beautifully on foot tapping music that left the audience mesmerized. After the curtain call Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan addressed the gathering. She congratulated the students, teachers and the parent fraternity for their constant support and guidance. The show ended on a happy and joyful note.
Swachhata Hi Sewa
It has been rightly said,” Cleanliness is next to Godliness.” Clean surroundings lead to clean environment which in turn makes clean, healthy and happy people. Cleanliness is most important for physical well-being and healthy environment. A cleanliness drive was conducted for the students of DPS Chandigarh to make them aware that being clean is a sign of spiritual purity and goodness. It is our utmost duty to promote safe and clean surroundings. Cleanliness helps us to create a positive public image and stay healthy. Beautiful pamphlets were designed by the students on the theme to limit the use of single use plastic. Students also expressed their views during the class assembly regarding the same. Council members contributed effectively to it by sensitizing the students on the issue through PowerPoint presentations all dipsites thoroughly enjoyed the activities undertaken in true spirit by imbibing the ideas shared with them. They took a pledge to save environment in every possible way by doing their bit.
Class Nursery and Prep-‘Drawing and Colouring Competition’
We at Delhi Public School firmly believe that art is one of the best means to inculcate self- expression, imagination and creativity in children. Keeping the same in mind ‘Drawing and Colouring Competition’ was organised for the tiny tots of classes Nursery& Prep. Children actively participated in the Competition exhibiting their artistic skills using different mediums. This enhanced self- expression as well as further developing, fine motor skills, grip control and eye- hand coordination. The children made wonderful drawings on the topics, ‘Garden Scene’ & ‘Beach Scene’. The enthusiasm among the participants was worth watching.
DPS students sensitized towards Clean Environment
Clean India is a Healthy India- laying stress on the need to have a cleaner and a healthier nation, the students of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh were sensitized towards keeping the environment clean. They were apprised towards the need to conserve its resources. The students were seen enthusiastically participating in Badge Making and Book Mark making activities related to the theme. In order to sensitise the students towards the need to preserve the ecology, a tree plantation drive was conducted where students planted saplings promising to nurture and look after them.
School Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan addressed the student community and urged the students to work towards a Swachh Bharat and a Swasth Bharat. She emphasized on the need to conserve the earth’s resources.
She administered a pledge to students to plant more trees. She suggested that each child should plant a tree on their birthdays each year. A pledge was also taken to conserve water in every possible way as this blue liquid is the new gold and every drop saved is going to fill the mighty oceans. She also motivated the students to become agents of change and contribute towards the protection of environment.
