Class Prep & I Field Show ‘Magic of Circus’

The students of classes Prep and I of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh put up a field show ‘ Magic of Circus’ with great pomp and show. The show focused on enjoying the lighter moments of life and living it to the fullest.
The programme started with the release of balloons of happiness and joy by the school Principal, Mrs Reema Dewan.
Dressed in bright, vibrant costumes and performing an array of acts, our little circus proved to be a truly magical experience for the audience. The amazing acrobats and clumsy clowns left everyone in peels of laughter.
The efforts of the students were lauded by all present. The show ended on a happy and joyful note.

Lecture on ‘Fundamental Rights and Duties ‘

A lecture on the topic ‘Fundamental Rights and Duties ‘ was delivered by Mr.Lalit Mohan,Para Legal Volunteer under State Legal Service Authority (SLSA) at Delhi Public School , Chandigarh on 10/2/2020. Students were also made aware about the working of SLSA .
It was an interactive session and students were sensitized towards being law abiding and upright citizens .

Class Nursery Class Show-‘The Pied Piper of Hamelin’

The students of class Nursery of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh participated in the class show ‘The Pied Piper of Hamelin’ with great enthusiasm and fervour. The tale enacted by the tiny tots of Nursery took everyone on a musical journey to a town in the middle ages infested with rats looking for a saviour. It was an amalgamation of dance and drama which captivated the audience.

Dressed in beautiful costumes, the little ones cast a magical spell on the audience with their mesmerizing performance. The audience enjoyed watching the classic tale come to life with the children’s performance.

The function culminated with a vote of thanks by the school principal, Ms. Reema Deewan who appreciated the outstanding show put up by the little Dipsites thereby emphasizing on the holistic development of each child and also thanking the parent fraternity for their constant support all throughout.

Session on Emergency Number 112

A session on ’emergency number 112 and 112 india app’ was conducted for students of class 8 &9 at Delhi Public School, Chandigarh by officials from the office of SSP, UT Chandigarh. Students were made aware that in need of any kind of emergency, they could use this emergency number and app and the nearest police authorities would be routed to them.
The students appreciated such a thoughtful initiative by the Government and promised to spread awareness about this number and app.

DPS students won Prizes in Kala Utsav 2019

The Education Department, Chandigarh Administration on the eve of Republic Day, organized a colourful bonanza at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh. Sh. Manoj Kumar Parida IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh was the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest distributed Prizes to the Winners of Kala Utsav 2019 which was conducted by the education department earlier. Pranjal Sood of Delhi Public School was presented a memento and cash prize of 4500 for bagging the First Prize in Kala Utsav 2019 a State level Dance Competition. Ajit Singh Dhar of Delhi Public School was presented a memento and cash prize of 4000 for bagging the Second Prize in Music instrumental- solo category of Kala Utsav 2019.

Class XII Farewell

The students of class XI DPS Chandigarh, organized a farewell party for the outgoing students of Class XII session 2019-2020 marking the end of their glorious sojourn. The students made the occasion special by hosting a spectacular DPS Awards Show, a parody of the IIFA in recognition and appreciation of the multi-talented seniors. The DPS Awards Show opened with a western dance performance, followed by a fabulous ramp show. The winners were facilitated with trophies. The stage blazed with the vigour of Bhangra performance of boys and girls in a musical rhapsody. The Principal Mrs. Reema Dewan encouraged the Dipsites to do their alma mater proud and blessed the batch with her words of wisdom.
The applause was the testimony of the grand success of the show.

SKYPE SESSION OF DPS ,CHANDIGARH WITH SCHOOL IN TUNISIA 29.01.2020

Students of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, effectively participated in a Skype Conference under the ISA project titled ‘Building a Better World’ for students of Class VIII and IX with their partner school in Ibnou Sina Secondary School, Tunisia, interacted with each other and shared their initiatives towards global community service.
Students from both the schools shared facts about their countries and their governance. They discussed about environmental issues and topics related to voluntarism and citizenship.
It aimed at helping students to develop awareness related to global community service and expand their knowledge outside the school borders.
School Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan appreciated the camaraderie shared by the students from both the schools. She also encouraged students to have more skype sessions with collaborative projects.
This session helped our learners to gain knowledge and understanding about the life and culture of Tunisia. Moreover, it enhanced the knowledge about Indian cultures among students of Tunisia. It was a step towards building bridges and forging stronger bonds between two countries.
