Guntas Kaur Sandhu won the 25th Punjab Open Ladies and Amateur Golf Championship 2022 organised by Golf Club Chandigarh on 3rd Nov 2022. She also won the overall Championship.
Tejveer Singh shines in the cricket match
Tejveer Singh Bhugar , Class XI E bagged the best batsman of the Tournament, Man of the match and Player of the series in Indus Valley Cricket zone tournament organised by Indus Valley Cricket stadium on 3rd Nov 2022. He also scored 108* runs in the final match against C.L.D.A.V school.
Nitin and Rudransh bagged silver in Roller skating Championship
Nitin and Rudransh Gupta of class 10 D bagged silver medal in Chandigarh State Roller Skating Championship 2022-23 held from 14.10.22 to 16.10.22 in Roller Hockey Junior guards(boys) organised by Chandigarh Roller Skating association at skating rink sector-10, Chandigarh.
Vimanshi, Class VI, won Gold Medals
Vimanshi of Class VI took part in 2nd tricity sub-junior Artistic Gymnastic and Rhythemic gymnastic held on 11th October , 2022. She also bagged 4 gold medals in ball, clubs,ribbon and roll events and bagged one silver medal in rope events.
INTER-DPS VIRTUAL QUIZ ZONE-1- 2nd Position
Medhansh Adlakha of Class XII and Shubh Adlakha of class IX participated in the INTER-DPS VIRTUAL QUIZ ZONE-1 held by DPS NOIDA and conducted by QGKS on 31st October ,2022 and achieved the 2nd Position in it .
Pre-Primary Wing celebrated ‘Halloween’
The celebration of Halloween is associated with the idea of good fortune. Keeping the same festive spirit in mind, the Pre-Primary wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated Halloween on October 31, 2022.
It was indeed a treat to see the children dress up in various outfits to celebrate the spirit of Halloween. The students were familiarized with the idea behind celebrating this festival. The enthusiastic children eagerly participated in some spooky activities like ‘Dance and Freeze’ and ‘Find your way’. The atmosphere was vibrant as the children were dressed in their scariest best. They enjoyed playing games and danced to the tunes of Halloween songs. There was excitement all around and the day ended with the little ones relishing their Halloween Treats.
Class II organised ‘Role Play on Heavenly Bodies’
The young learners of Class II of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh were apprised of the movement and presence of various heavenly bodies in the solar system. To enhance their knowledge about the solar system and give wings to their imagination a ‘Role play’ activity was organized wherein the children spoke about the heavenly body or planet assigned to them. They used different props during their presentation which added to its beauty. The students captivated everyone with their mesmerizing performance. It was an enriching and an enlightening experience for the young Dipsites.
Class Nursery organised ‘Sorting Activity’
The little ones of Class Nursery of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh were apprised about the importance of healthy eating through an interesting sorting activity. The children sorted healthy and junk food pictures into different food groups. This hands-on activity helped them understand about healthy food items and the benefits of eating them.
Pre- Primary Wing celebrated ‘Diwali’
The Pre-Primary wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated Diwali with great joy and enthusiasm. The children were told about the significance of the festival and the harmful effects of bursting firecrackers. The little ones were seen eagerly participating in various craft activities. Children had a gala time making clay diyas on the Potter’s wheel. They looked adorable with messy hands and smiles on their faces.
Children were sensitized about the importance of celebrating a safe and Green Diwali. Overall it was a fun-filled and enriching experience for them.
Class IV organised “Give a Hoot, Eat More Fruit Competition”
As Henry David Thoreau said – “Live in each season as it passes: breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the seasonal fruit.”
To illustrate the importance of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables, health professionals often advise you to “eat the rainbow.”
To inculcate the concept of eating the rainbow and its benefits, “Give a Hoot, Eat More Fruit Competition” was organized for the students of Class 4 on 10th October, 2022. The participants delivered their speeches with great confidence and left no stone unturned to give in their best. They were asked to present their views in the time slot of 1-2 minutes. They were judged on the criteria of Content, Fluency, Confidence, Clarity and Tone. The students showed great fervour and poise in their respective presentation.
Pre- Primary organised an Excursion to Traffic Park
An excursion to the Traffic Park was organised by Delhi Public School, Chandigarh for the children of classes Nursery and Prep l.
An interesting and interactive session was conducted by the Traffic Personnel who made the children aware about abiding traffic rules in order to be safe on the road. The objective was to encourage the young Dipsites to learn basic road safety the ‘Fun Way’.
Class Nursery organized ‘Pink Day’
Colors make our life vibrant. Colors infuse joy and happiness amongst children. To enhance the awareness of colours, ‘Pink Day’ was organised for the students of class Nursery of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh on October 10, 2022.The students and teachers of Nursery came dressed in different shades of pink. Children carried their favourite Pink Colour objects and also spoke a little about them followed by a colour mixing activity. The purpose of this activity was to tell the children that by mixing two different colours, we get a new colour. The day was full of learning and fun time for the children.
Class I organized ‘Germination Activity’
In order to sensitize the students about the stages of growth of a plant, a ‘Germination Activity’ was conducted for the students of class I during their General Awareness class.
The students learnt about the various things required for the growth of plants. They themselves sowed the seeds in the soil and found how soil, air, water and sunlight are important for a plant to grow. They enjoyed the hands-on experience of learning about the growth of plants.
Agrima Sudhir and Yashmit Segal of Class XII – 2nd Runners up in the Chandigarh Round of U Genius
Agrima Sudhir and Yashmit Segal of Class XII secured the 2nd Runners up position as a team in the Chandigarh Round of U Genius, a National Level General Awareness Quiz Competition organised by The Union Bank of India, held at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18 Chandigarh on 6th October, 2022. They were first shortlisted among the top 6 from a total of 220 teams through a pen and paper round and subsequently bagged the Third Position in the Final Round.
Tanmay Rawat participated in Kashmir Cyclothon
Tanmay Rawat, Class-VIII , participated in Kashmir Cyclothon organised by Tourism of Kashmir Dept, UT Administration of J&K. from 22nd Sept to 24th Sept, 2022. He becomes the youngest cyclist to complete the 300 km long cyclothon.
