Cultural Achievements

Pujita Saini of Class VIII bagged the First Prize and Rupal Goel of Class XI bagged the Third Prize in Inter School Poster Making Contest in the Junior and Senior Categories respectively. The achievers were given prizes by the Governor of Punjab in a special award ceremony. The event was organized by Yuvsatta, an NGO.

Riya Kapoor of Class VII-D has bagged the Second Prize in Paint Germany Tri-City – an Inter School Drawing Competition held on 14th October, 2010.

Shambhavi and Bhavya Sharma of Class X bagged the Third Prize in CWG Quiz held at GMSSS-10, Chandigarh on 12th October, 2010.

Rakshit Sharma of Class VII-B has bagged the Second Prize in a Painting Competition during World Tourism Week Celebrations organized by Chandigarh Administration. He has also received a cash award of Rs. 1500/- for this achievement.

Our school bagged several prizes in ‘Ensemble – The Musical Extravaganza’ an inter school competition organised by ‘The Daniels’ group. The results were :-

• Manik Kohli (VII-D) – Solo Instrumental Music – First Position
• Paarth Koser (X-C) & Manik Kohli (VII-D) – Non-Conventional Orchestra – First Position
• Vithika Mohapatra (IX-C) – Classical Vocal – Second Position
• Samridhi Puri (IX-C) – Folk Song – – Third Position

Jasmine Punia of Class IX-A secured the Gold Medal in Inter School Draw & Paint Contest organized by Bani Tirtha Institute of Art, Music & Dance.

Shezad Singh of Class X-E has bagged the Third Prize in ‘Back to School’ Contest organised by Times of India.

Kanchi Shirin of Class XI has bagged the First Prize in Painting Competition and Jayant Goel of Class VIII has also bagged the First Prize in Funk Junk Competition in Horlicks Wizkids Event.

DPS Chandigarh bagged the Second Position in Inter School Patriotic Song Competition organised at Aurobindo School, Chandigarh on 11th August, 2010.

Our school has bagged First Overall Position with a cash prize of Rs. 10000/- in Fanta Fiesta – an Inter School Cultural Festival organized by Strides. More than 54 schools took part in the festival. The detailed result is as follows :-

• First Prize in Folk Dance (Junior)
• First Prize in Qawali
• Second Prize in Folk Dance (Senior)
• Third Prize in Quiz

Manas Hardikar of class VIII won the ‘Smartest Family’ Competition in ‘Synapse’10’ organised by Les Amis in May 2010. He also received a cash prize of Rs. 4500/-

Anjit Aulakh and Shruti Paranjapee of class XII and Ishita Suri of class X stood first in Inter School Quiz on Science and Technology, bagging a cash prize of Rs 1000/- each in ‘Cognizant’ organized by PEC, Chandigarh in May 2010.

Our school bagged the first position in Inter School Folk Dance Competition organised by Rotary Chandigarh Central.
