Classes I & II observed Literacy Week

International Literacy day is celebrated every year to highlight the importance of literacy for individuals and the society as well as highlighting the need for augmented efforts towards more literate societies.
Reading promotes literacy and is a simple way to keep the children’s mind stimulated and focused. It helps in the development of creative and analytical thinking skills. To mark the importance of reading, CBSE had announced celebration of the Literacy Week.
The children of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh observed Literacy Week from 8th September to 14th September, 2020. Our little ones at the pre-primary level participated with lots of enthusiasm. The students of class I dressed up and spoke confidently about their favourite character from a story book.
Class II students also enjoyed sharing a review of the story book which they had read recently. The activities were planned to hone the reading, speaking and listening skills and were thoroughly enjoyed by the children. The week turned out to be extremely engaging and was an enjoyable experience for the children
