With festive spirit permeating all around and all hearts brimming with zeal and zest, the Class III students of DPS Chandigarh presented the show ‘Shyam Sanidhya – The Story of Krishna’ on 20th and 21st December, 2012 as part of their Annual Day celebrations. The evening was made more special by the presence of Mr. Wolfgang Vogelsaenger, Principal, IGS Gottingen Geismar, school guests from Germany and his wife Mrs. Stefanie Vogelsaenger.
The evening started with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. In the cultural extravaganza that ensued sweet immortal stories of enchanting Lord Krishna took precedence. The colourful dance drama was entwined with episodes like Krishna Janam, Makhan Chor, Kalia Nag, Raas Lila and Gita Updesh. The show was interspersed with dances and melodious songs adding flavour to the programme. The exuberance of the children cast a magical spell on the audience. It was heartening to watch more than 300 students perform on the stage.
The show was captivating and the most spectacular part was the curtain call where all participants stood together in unison with cheers, smiles and applauds echoing all over.
