Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organized a special assembly on 1st May, 2012 on the theme : “Sustainable Energy” as part of celebrating 2012 as the ‘International Year of Sustainable Energy for All’ as declared by the United Nations General Assembly.
The assembly began with a prayer wherein everyone sought the blessings of God to help preserve the planet Earth. It was followed by a short skit which addressed the energy issues of the present times. Through the skit the students tried to increase awareness about using sustainable energy. Everyone pledged to promote action at their levels to ensure natural resources conservation.
A speech was delivered on what sustainable energy is and how it is accessible, cleaner and more efficient. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
