The excellence achieved by the gifted, determined and committed students of the Junior Wing in academics, sports and co-curricular activities was celebrated and given due recognition in the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony held in the school auditorium of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh on 25th April, 2012.
Mr. Brijendra Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh Administration graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was also attended by our distinguished guests Ms. Catheline and Ms. Heather of Westkerby Primary School, Wirral, UK who are here on a week-long visit as part of an exchange programme between the two schools.
In keeping with the traditional practice, the ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp. The talented artists of the school presented a short cultural programme. The melodious choir and rhythmic tribal dance ‘Siddhi Dhamaal’, the poetry recitation and the foot tapping western dance mesmerized the audience. The recent achievements of the school were highlighted through a Power-Point Presentation.
The young scholars, budding sportsperson and artists were honoured with proficiency awards, scholar badges and honour badges. The Chief Guest applauded the performance of the students and congratulated them on their success. He also lauded the efforts made by DPS in the field of education in Chandigarh and said that DPS has come to symbolize success. In a short span of 10 years, the school has carved a niche for itself.
