Shaurya brought laurels to school by winning medals in different events in Taekwondo.

Shaurya Sharma of class 3A participated in IDSO 3rd Kukkiwon cup and Indian International Taekwondo Championship 2019 held at New delhi from June 5,2019 to June 7, 2019.He bagged Gold medal in professional fight, Gold medal in Fresher’s fight, Student of the year 2018-19, in Emerald Taekwondo academy. He also bagged Gold medal in 11th Open North Zone Taekwondo Championship on Feb 3rd, 2019.

Skype in Classroom

Ozone Day, September 16, is celebrated since 1994 to spread awareness regarding the depletion of the ozone layer. ‘Skype in Classroom’ is one of the activities taken up by students of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, under which a Skype Conference was organized with students of Aftab Uddin School and College, Kishoreganj, Bangladesh to mark Ozone Day. Through this Skype Project, students of both schools interacted and discussed ways to reduce the depletion of Ozone Layer.
Students emphasized the importance of ozone in protecting the earth from harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. They identified the reasons behind the ozone layer depletion and the detrimental effects on human life. They pledged to spread awareness regarding this and steps that can be taken up to reduce the depletion of the ozone layer were discussed.
The Principal, Ms Reema Dewan, appreciated the tips given by both schools to reduce the depletion of the Ozone layer. She also encouraged students to have more skype sessions with collaborative projects.

Class Prep ‘Dental Workshop’

Creating oral health awareness at an early age and introducing children to oral healthcare is of vital importance to discourage the dental problems faced by students at an early age. Keeping this in mind, Delhi Public School organised a ‘Dental Workshop’ for the tiny tots of Class Prep on July 26, 2019. The guest speaker, Dr Anjali Sofat emphasized on dental health and hygiene like brushing teeth and advised regular dental check-ups. She also talked about common dental ailments like cavities and tooth decay. The students understood the importance of oral hygiene and enthusiastically participated in the interactive session.

The process of communicating the progress of students to parents must involve students in a meaningful way.
Keeping this in mind a ‘Student Led Conference’ was organised by the Pre-Primary Wing of Delhi Public School under the guidance of our Principal, Ms Reema Dewan.

The students were filled with excitement and enthusiastically shared their learning experiences proudly with their parents. Students showcased their learning about various concepts through bodily kinesthetic activities. Parents loved being a part of conference as they learnt about what and how children learn in class.

The conference helped the students in the development of communication and organisational skills. It also made them confident learners. Overall it was a joyful experience.
