Our Students outstanding performance at Chandigarh sub junior and junior athletic championship 2024 on the 2nd day we got 3 medals.
The following medals are:
1)Samisha Taneja (9/D) won gold medal in long jump under 16 Girls Category.

2)Shayan (10th)got Bronze medal in 60 mt race.under 16 Boys Category.

3)Nitin (11) won Bronze medal in 400 mt race.under -18 boys Category.

Samisha Taneja ,Class IX, wins the Best Athlete title!

Samisha Taneja of Class 9, DPS Chandigarh wins the Best Athlete title in Under-16 girls category, in addition to Gold Medal in Long Jump and Gold Medal in High jump events at the Chandigarh State Sub-Junior and Junior Athletics meet conducted at Sports Complex, Sector 7 Chandigarh from 23rd to 26th August, 2024. She was awarded with a bicycle. This is the second year in a row that she has won this title.

Class I organised Public Speaking on Community Helpers

Helpers play a crucial role in our lives, whether they are doctors, engineers, teachers or housekeeping staff. To help children understand the importance of community helpers, Team DPS, Chandigarh organized a public speaking activity for first-grade students. Dressed as happy helpers, children discussed the responsibilities of these roles and their impact on our society. It turned out to be a valuable learning experience for the children.

Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony at Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, held on August 23rd, 2024, was a momentous occasion that celebrated the induction of the Student Council, installation of the Interact Club, and the felicitation of the Class 12 toppers of the 2023-24 academic session. The event was elevated by the presence of distinguished guests, esteemed Rotarians and other dignitaries, making it a truly memorable day for the entire school community.

Sh. Surendra Singh Yadav IPS, Director General of Police, U.T. Chandigarh, honoured the occasion as the Chief Guest. The ceremony began on a reverent note with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by an engaging cultural program. The school choir’s uplifting song, a captivating dance performance, and an inspiring visual presentation created a lively and motivational atmosphere.

The newly elected Student Council members were ceremonially presented with their badges by the Chief Guest, Sh. Surendra Singh Yadav. In his address, he urged them to lead with integrity and dedication. In today’s competitive world he emphasized, Gandhian values of compassion and standing up for what is right are more crucial than ever, encouraging students to excel while becoming compassionate leaders.

The Interact Club members were pinned by the eminent Rotarians, who praised DPS Chandigarh for its exceptional efforts in fostering leadership and a sense of responsibility towards community service.

Principal Mrs. Reema Dewan, in her address, congratulated all the appointees and underscored the essence of leadership as an expression of character and action. She encouraged the students to work together, emphasizing that unity and collaboration are the cornerstones of great achievements. She also urged the council to innovate and bring fresh perspectives, ensuring their leadership continues to impact the school meaningfully.

The Head Boy and Head Girl delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the guests and participants. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the school as its new leaders take charge.

Class II organised Activity-“Life cycle of a butterfly”

The students of class II of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh were explained about the process of growth in the living organisms during their General Awareness class. A project was conducted in the class to explain the different stages in the life cycle of a butterfly. The students depicted the life cycle of a butterfly with the help of clay, cotton, colourful papers and other material. They enthusiastically participated and enjoyed the hands-on learning experience.

Pre-Primary wing celebrated ‘Janmashtami’

The students of the Pre-Primary wing of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, joyfully celebrated the birthday of revered Lord Krishna. Dressed in traditional costumes representing Lord Krishna, Radha and Meera, the children delighted in playing with flutes, matkis and peacock feathers. They sang devotional bhajans and shared enchanting stories about these divine figures. The students’ enthusiasm created a sacred ambiance, bringing vibrant energy to the Janmashtami festivities.

Outstanding Team Award at ‘Blaze to Chase’ competition

Congratulations to the exceptional team for their impressive performance at the *Blaze to Chase* competition, hosted on August 24 at Paragon Senior Secondary School Sector 71, Mohali. Arnav, Hiya, Shivain, and Rishika showcased remarkable collaboration and teamwork, earning the distinguished award for *Outstanding Team*. Their unified effort and dedication were clearly evident, making them truly deserving of this honor.

Classes I & II celebrated ‘National Space Day’

To commemorate the success of the Chandrayan-3 mission, August 23rd has been declared as ‘National Space Day’.
To engage and inspire the students of Classes I and II of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh towards space technology and its application, various modules and activities like rocket craft making and collage making were organized for the students. These activities not only helped the students enhance their knowledge about our space mission but also helped them applaud the hardwork put in by the scientists in launching Chandrayan-3.

Class XI- Class Show and Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony

On August 8, 2024, the students of Class XI celebrated their Class Show and Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony. The event was honored by the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Rakesh Malik, University Deputy Director of Physical Education and Sports at Panjab University, Chandigarh.

The highlight of the event was a captivating presentation of “Mamma Mia: The Musical!” by the talented students of Class XI. The musical told the heartwarming tale of a young bride-to-be in search of her father, filled with delightful surprises and moments of laughter and love. The students’ enchanting performance, featuring timeless hits from ABBA, mesmerized the audience. The venue resounded with thunderous applause, and the stunning light and sound display left the audience spellbound.

Following the musical, the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony honoured the meritorious students of Class XI for their outstanding achievements in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities. In his address, the chief guest, Dr. Malik emphasized the importance of extracurricular activities in fostering holistic development among students.

The parents’ enthusiastic applause was a testament to the commendable efforts of the participants. In her address, Principal Mrs. Reema Dewan reiterated the significance of theatre in unlocking imagination, challenging norms, questioning societal issues, and bringing about change. She congratulated everyone who contributed to the program’s grand success and affirmed the school’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded, confident, and committed individuals, stating that events like these play a crucial role in achieving this goal.

The students of class XII DPS Chandigarh showcased their theatrical prowess with the presentation of “My Fair Lady – A Stagecraft,”. The event celebrated the artistic talents and academic achievements of the students, The show was graced by the esteemed presence of the chief guest, Shri Veerendra Kumar Meena, IAS.

The show commenced with a candle lighting ceremony, setting the tone for the proceedings. Following this, the enthusiastic students presented a spectacular adaptation of “My Fair Lady,” enthralling the audience with their impeccable performances. The students managed every aspect of the show, from the intricate props and elaborate sets to the meticulous dialogue recordings, showcasing their dedication and teamwork.

The play was a testament to the students’ creativity and hard work, as they brought to life the classic tale with a fresh perspective. The themes of transformation, social class, and personal growth were brilliantly portrayed, leaving the audience in awe. The humorous and poignant moments of the play were seamlessly executed, highlighting the students’ versatility in handling a range of emotions and scenarios.

DPS students bring laurels to the school by winning prize in Inter School Dance Competition “Twirls of Freedom”

We are incredibly proud to announce that Dilnoor of class 8G has won the 1st Prize in the Solo Inter School Dance Competition “Twirls of Freedom” held at Mount Carmel on 24th August 2024.
Her dedication, talent, and passion for dance truly shone through, making her performance unforgettable. Dilnoor’s hard work and commitment to perfecting her art have clearly paid off, setting a wonderful example for her peers.

A special shoutout to our talented duo, Akhilesha and Naisha of class 10E, who secured the Consolation Prize in the Duet Inter School Dance competition “Twirls of Freedom” held at Mount Carmel on 24th August 2024.
Their synchronized moves and creativity left a lasting impression. Their performance demonstrated the power of collaboration and the beauty of shared passion.

We are thrilled to share that Paavni (10D), Aanya Gandhi (10G), Sarisha (10H), Rekva (9G), Ananya (8F), Ananya (10E), Manroop (9G), ⁠Aastha (10F), Aarvi (8A) and Inika (9B) have won the 3rd Prize in the Group Dance Inter School Dance competition “Twirls of Freedom” held at Mount Carmel on 24th August 2024.
Their teamwork, energy, and dedication led to a truly captivating performance. Their collective effort and harmony were a true reflection of their strong bond and mutual understanding.

Class V organised ‘Poster Making Competition’

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organised a Poster Making Competition for the students of class V on 20 August, 2024. The event has being organised as a precursor to the National Space Day celebrations. The theme of the competition was ” Touching Lives while Touching the Moon: India’s Space Saga.” More than 210 students participated in the competition. The inspirational posters created by students spread awareness about the importance and benefits of space exploration, promoting national pride and unity.

Deetya- 3rd Runners up in SIP Punjab Prodigy – SIP Arithmetic and Mental Championship 2024

Deetya Singh of class 4 C participated in the SIP Punjab Prodigy – SIP Arithmetic and Mental Championship 2024. It was held on 11th August at Tau Devilal Stadium, Panchkula. Over 2000 children participated from 25 centres of Abacus across Punjab and Chandigarh. At the state level, Deetya was the 3rd Runners up by solving 30 sums in just 3 minutes time.

Pre-Primary Wing organized ‘Rakhi Making Activity’

Festivals help children learn about their cultural heritage and traditions and also strengthens family bonds as they bring families together for shared activities and rituals. Keeping the same in mind, we at Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organized a ‘Rakhi Making Activity’ for the students of the Pre-Primary wing. The children were enthusiastic and excited to participate as they selected their favorite colors and decorative material to create their own unique rakhis. The children were also told the importance of the festival and the tradition of tying ‘Rakhis’ as a symbol of love and protection. The activity concluded with the children all excited about giving their handmade rakhis to their siblings.
