Description:

In the spirit of Van Mahotsav, the Interact Club of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh organised an engaging tree plantation drive on campus to highlight the importance of trees and environmental responsibility. This initiative was led by the enthusiastic Eco Club.

On a sunny July morning (07/07/25) , club members, accompanied by teachers, planted crape jasmine (also known as pinwheel flowers) saplings throughout the school grounds. These fragrant ornamental plants, celebrated for their evergreen beauty and soothing aroma, were chosen to combine aesthetics with ecological value.

The event was graced by the presence of the school Director Mrs. Reema Dewan and school Principal Mrs. Pawan Singh, whose support inspired students and underscored the school’s dedication to green initiatives. Under their guidance, students carefully dug pits, planted saplings, watered them, and mulched around each plant—learning hands-on techniques for nurturing young trees.

Through short speeches, club members reflected on how trees cleanse the air, provide shade, support biodiversity, and combat climate change. By planting crape jasmine, the school not only enhanced campus greenery but also instilled in students a lasting appreciation for nature. This plantation drive by the passionate Eco Club, with full backing from school leadership, truly embodied the values of Van Mahotsav and nurtured the next generation of eco champions.
