Sports Achievements

Jaskeerat Singh Ahluwalia of Class V-C has been declared the ‘Best Boy’ securing 5 out of 9 points in the U-10 category of 1st Chandigarh All India Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2011 held from 27th April to 1st May, 2011.

Aayush Raj Kapoor of Class II-A has qualified for Under 9 Chess Nationals to be played in August 2011.

Jaskeerat Singh Ahluwalia of Class V-C has been selected to represent Chandigarh State in the U-11 Chess Nationals to be held in Ahmedabad on 26th May, 2011. He stood second in the tournament with 4 out of 5 points. He also bagged the Third Position in the selection for U-15 Chess Nationals to be held in Chennai.

Raghav Goyal of Class IV-A has won the First Prize in Putting Competition held in CGA in the 8-10 years category.

Karan of Class VI-C has bagged the First Position in Junior Boys (Category D) in the First CGA Junior Golf Tournament held on 9th & 10th April, 2011.

Sachit Malhotra of Class IX has bagged the First Position in the U-14 and U-18 (Boys) a Total Tennis Tournament held from 3rd to 5th April, 2011. He has also bagged the First Position in the U-14 Dikshant Total Tennis Tournament held from 9th to 13th April, 2011.

Sabrang Sandal of Class VI-G has bagged the First Position in (U-12) Tennis Tournament organised at D.A.V. Sr. Secondary School, Panchkula.

Charvi Saxena of Class IX bagged a Silver Medal in 56th National Games held at Pune from 6th January, 2011 to 15th January, 2011.

Our school has bagged the Second Position in the All India Inter DPS Tennis Tournament for Girls held at DPS Karnal. Our team comprised of Saumya Saxena of Class VII, Charvi Saxena of Class IX and Rahhat Manrai of Class X.

Harshiv Chhabra and Sagar of Class VIII-C have been selected for 53rd Football Nationals.

Sanchit Jain of Class VII has been selected to participate in National School Games in U-14 Boys Cricket.

Our students have won participation in the 56th National Lawn Tennis Championship. The Girls team comprises of Tanya Batra, Saumya Saxena, Abhisha Jindal & Charvi Saxena. Our Boys team comprises of Sachit Malhotra, Santbir Singh, Dhruv Puniani.

Jaskeerat Singh Ahluwalia of Class III-C bagged a Bronze Medal in U-14 Boys Chess (Individual Event) in the Inter DPS Multi Sports Meet held at Hissar in October 2010.

We have bagged the overall Third Prize in Chess in the All India Inter DPS Multi Sports Meet held at DPS Hissar.

Our players were :-

• Jashan Khurana – Class V-A

Ruban Deol of X-D participated in Inter School National Shooting Competition held at Fardabad and won the following medals :-

• Gold medal in State Junior 10 mtrs. Air Pistol
• Gold medal in 22 Sports Pistol – Women’s event
• Silver medal in 10 mt. Air Pistol – Senior Women’s event

She was also declared the Best Shooter in the Women’s Category.
