Siona Arora (Class VIII) and Devika Sood (Class VIII) won the 3rd position in the activity, ‘Designing an advertisement promoting nature’s need’ in Woodsia Alpina Eco-Fest (2017)- an Inter-School Competition held on 22nd July 2017.

Students from Classes IV-X participated in the event ‘Science Extravaganza’ held at Carmel Convent, Chandigarh on 26th July 2017. The following students won prizes in different events:

• Shambhavi and Sunaina (Class VIII-A) won 1st prize in ‘Clean India Green India’.
• Divija Dewan and Navya Gupta (Class V-F) won 1st prize in ‘Serendipity’.

Manan (Class VI-B) stood Second in a French Enactment Competition conducted at Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh on 25th July 2017.

Aaditeya Goyal (V-A) has been selected as a ‘Silver Star’ by Fevicol and Hobby Ideas.His TVC is featuring on Nickelodeon and VOOT and soon his video will be published by them.

Arshiya and Nitin Singh of class IV had won three Gold Medals each and overall championship trophies in 11th North Zone Skating Championship 2017 at GR International School in age group under 8-10 in Inline and Quards Category in 300 Mts, 500 mts and 1000mts.

Nadiya Bansal of Class IXF bagged Silver Medal in Rink 1(500mts) and Silver in Rink 2(1000mts) in 2nd All India Invitational Roller Skating Championship held at Skating Rink Leisure Valley, Ludhiana organised by Everest Sports Academy from May 13,2017 to May 14,2017.

Tarannum Bhandari of class IXF has bagged Second position in Tennis Tournament held at Brilliance World School on April 22,2017 and April 23,2017.

Analjit Singh of class VIF bagged Runners-Up trophy in Lawn Tennis Tournament organised by Total Tennis Academy Kundan International School Sector-46 Chandigarh from April 15,2017 to April 16,2017.

Uddayvir Singh of class IXC won U-16 Singles Title in AITA TS Tournament held at Chandigarh Club from April 10,2017 to April 14,2017.

Shriditi and Jugaad (Class X) have won the third prize and consolation prize respectively in the Pictorial Slogan Writing Competition on the theme ‘Stop Child Labour’ organised by Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) at Government Girls Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 18, Chandigarh on May1, 2017. Honorable Justice Surya Kant, Judge Punjab & Haryana High Court was the Chief Guest.

Himank Sehgal (X-A) represented Japan in United Nations Environment Programme simulated at Young Leaders’ Summit held on 9th April 2017. He was awarded ‘High Commendation’ for displaying exemplary services. He also received a cash prize of Rs 1100.

Himank Sehgal (X-A) represented Estonia in the EU at PECMUN 4.0 held on 4th-5th February 2017 and was awarded ‘Special mention’ for an exemplary performance.

Students of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh bagged the 2nd Prize in the ‘State Level Kala Utsav‘- Dance competition organised by the MHRD in October 2016. The theme of this event was ‘Living Traditions of Art’. Total 19 teams participated in this event showcasing well-choreographed traditional folk dances from different states. The DPS team presented ‘Santhali’- a very popular folk dance of Jharkhand.

The prize distribution ceremony was held on 21st February 2017 in Tagore Theatre. Sh. Anurag Aggarwal, IAS, Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest. The occasion also marked the presence of Director School Education, District Education Officer, Principals of various Schools and other dignitaries.

The students of DPS-40, presented the vibrant ‘Santhali’ in its true spirit and flavour at the ceremony. School Principal, Ms. Reema Dewan and her team were awarded at the ceremony. Each participant was also awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1200/-.

Principal, Ms. Reema Dewan congratulated the 10 participants and encouraged them to nurture their talent.

Seven Children from our School participated in on-the spot painting competition, as a part of traffic week organised by Chandigarh traffic police. We bagged the following positions: Palak (Class IX-B)- First position (Senior category), Manya (X-H)- Second position (Senior category), Anoushka (Class VI-H)- First position (Junior category) and Nitima (Class VI-D)- Second position (Junior category).

Palak Garg (Class IX) got the Jury Appreciation for her painting sent for the Art exhibition as a part of Annual Inter DPS National Heritage Festival 2106, held at DPS Noida on December 25, 2016.
