DPS Chandigarh Presents “Wicked Whispers – The Untold Story”
On May 23, 2025, the students of Class XII at DPS Chandigarh mesmerized the audience with the presentation of Wicked Whispers – The Untold Story, a spectacular class show held in conjunction with the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the chief guest, Dr. Nitin Peters, a renowned paediatric surgeon at PGIMER and Dr. Jyotika Singh, an accomplished physician and global pharmacovigilance leader.
The event began with a candle-lighting ceremony, setting the tone for the day. What followed was a powerful adaptation of Wicked, inspired by Gregory Maguire’s novel and the Broadway musical adapted for the stage by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman. From set design and costumes to dialogue recordings and direction, the students managed every aspect of the production, demonstrating remarkable creativity, initiative, and teamwork.
The play explored themes of identity, transformation, and social perception, encouraging the audience to look beyond appearances—beyond what’s good and what’s wicked. With moments of humor, emotion, and powerful storytelling, the performance highlighted the immense talent and emotional depth of the students.
The Director, Mrs. Reema Dewan, lauded the efforts of the entire team, reaffirming the school’s vision of holistic education.She added that though academics is the core function of the school, she believed that it is not the only focus. She emphasized providing diverse platforms to help students uncover and express their latent potential. The event concluded with an inspiring address by the chief guest and the felicitation of meritorious students in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities, making it a memorable celebration of both artistic brilliance and all-round excellence.
