On May 22, 2025, students of Class IX at Delhi Public School proudly hosted their class show “Tasher Desh-The Kingdom of Cards” – a satirical play by Rabindranath Tagore on the occasion of Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony. Celebrating the tragi-comedy of life, this performance showcased the students’ artistic talent and understanding of lofty themes of freedom and individuality.
Mr. Diprava Lakra, IAS, Finance Secretary, U.T., Chandigarh was the Chief Guest for the occasion. He not only felicitated the meritorious students for their exceptional academic excellence but also appreciated their splendid rendition.
The show opened with a soul stirring Ganesh Vandana. Then the zealous students put up a spectacular show by satirizing the most prevalent ills of society with a humorous take on them. The students conveyed an artistic burlesque on societal norms with a covert message to the audience to introspect and herald a change.
School Director Mrs. Reema Dewan addressed the gathering, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the awardees and students who made the event successful. She stated, “Delhi Public School is committed to fostering academic excellence and holistic development in its students.”
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a renewed sense of motivation among students to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits. The applause by the parents proved testimony to the laudable effort of participants. Congratulations to all the awardees and participants!
