‘National Book Week’ celebrated in Delhi Public School

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh celebrated a fun-filled literary based ‘National Book Week’ from November 15 to November 21, 2018.

The school library under the guidance of Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan conducted activities to enhance the creative and scholastic skills of the children.

The students of the Primary school (Classes III-V) had a thrilling and joyful experience while participating in an event ‘Read with Rhythm’ (Musical Chairs).

The students of the middle school (Classes VI to VIII) had participated in an event ‘Book Tasting’. Library was setup like a restaurant complete with a ‘Book Tasting Menu’. Students wrote a quick response sheet and rating of the book based on the menu card. Students enjoyed the treat of delicious books.

The Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan appreciated the innovative activities and shared that when it comes to reading, it just like eating. The perfect way to pique their appetite for a good read is to have a book tasting. It’s a great way to let young readers sample different authors and a good way for the schools to gauge what kids like to read.
