Investiture Ceremony at DPS Chandigarh

Student Council members of Delhi Public School Chandigarh for the current academic session were sworn in on Friday, the 19th of August, 2016, at an impressive Investiture Ceremony, amidst an air of enthusiasm and anticipation. The newly appointed members of the Interact club were also inducted.

Mr. Ajit Balaji Joshi, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh presided over the ceremony. Ms. Neenu Vij, President, Rotary Club of Chandigarh, District 3080 was the Guest of Honour with other eminent Rotarians being the Honoured Guests.

The ceremony was initiated with the lighting of the lamp followed by a short cultural programme that included ‘the auspicious Ganesh Vandana, seeking wisdom and divinity and scintillating folk music presented by the School Choir. A short movie on ‘Leadership’ was shown to inspire the young minds to take up the responsibilities entrusted in them seriously and with gusto. A Radio Show ‘The Power of We’ highlighted team work.

The new members were pinned by Mr. Ajit Balaji Joshi. He appreciated the school for providing an ideal platform to the students for developing in them a sense of duty and commitment and motivated them to make the most of all the opportunities provided by the school. He said the country needed perseverance and persistence.

Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan in her address reminded the council that with authority comes great responsibility and accountability. She said schools should do everything possible to provide excellent education and empower every student to bring out their full learning potential and prepare them for success in life. The vote of thanks was proposed by President, Student Council. The programme came to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
