Principals’ Conclave at DPS Chandigarh concludes

The three day Principals’ Conclave on the theme – The Principal as a Visionary leader concluded on September 14, 2015.

The Valedictory was graced by Prof. Arun Kumar Grover, Vice Chancellor, P.U., Chandigarh, Mr. V.K. Shunglu, Chairman, DPS Society, Ms. Vinita Kher, Director, CEM, I/C HRDC, DPS Society, Mr. Anup Soni and Mr. Amit Bansal, Directors, DPS Chandigarh.

The programme began with the lighting of the lamp followed by Principal, DPS Chandigarh, Mrs. Reema Dewan’s address. She extended a warm welcome to everyone. She spoke of the learning, unlearning and relearning that had taken place in the last three days. She said, “Principals as leaders, if their vision is empowered, can transform dreams into reality and if the movement is strong enough it can turn into a knowledge revolution.” She emphasized on the role of DPS as a citadel of learning committed to improving minds and initiatives of thousands of young children.

Ms. Vinita Kher thanked the Chairman Mr. V. K. Shunglu, DPSS for providing an occasion such as the Principals’ Conclave for individual school leaders to discuss issues of school development. She thanked the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Mr. Uday Soni for providing the conducive environment to facilitate intellectual and experiential transaction. She thanked the Principal, Mrs. Reema Dewan for her initiative in hosting the significant programme of the HRDC. She also thanked the school heads for being at the programme and wished them great success in their personal and professional endeavour.

There was an enthralling cultural programme comprising Ganesh Vandana, Kamsale – a folk dance of Karnataka and a spell binding performance by the school choir that left the audience mesmerized.

Mr. Shunglu urged all delegates to carry the DPS legacy forward, to plan and decide for the future. He further added that all their endeavours should be towards moving ahead. He opined that perfection comes from imperfection, so never stop making an effort to be the best.
